Grey Rainy Days
On grey rainy days in early spring
The windows call me to their sills.
In hopes of you, I fill the empty house
With Vision through those crystal panes.
Could you be with me now as you were then?
Then embrace me close and hold me tight,
I miss you so the glass might break
And rain would fall inside this heart,
On those grey rainy days in early spring.
Fresh Mown Lawns
Fresh mown lawns in balmy summer air
drifting into sunsets, youthful days forever
Calm the trepid heart, full and brisk today
The time with you on tender looks and hooks.
My full-sworn heart glides in perfect time.
I cannot go back nor could I have stayed
In your arms I found, forever loves embrace
And now on painted stoop, I sit and dream
In days of fresh mown lawns and balmy summer air.

The Long Shadows
The long shadows reach and wrap me in a velvet swoon
And move my heart the days past warm and close.
All bleak empty bare and silent the field my comfort
Cold grey haunts forever halted in time.
Once and now I loved her in the fragile morning light.
Old roses pricking pain fades in the twilight and
Softly so softly my heart warms in the quiet sighs
That slip by me on the cobbled earth
In the days of the long shadows.
